Chad’s 50th Birthday Party! September 14th-15th, 2019
You’re invited to join for a weekend of fun. We’ll gather at my country dacha on Saturday, Sept 14th around 3pm (free buses leave from Kyiv at 2pm from Golden Gate) to eat, drink, enjoy live music, dance, take bikes, motorcycles and sidecars to explore the river and village, feast, have a bonfire, surprises, midnight snacks and conversation. Buses will go back to Kyiv at midnight and those who want to stay over night will be provided lodging nearby (sold out). The next day (Sunday) will start with 11am brunch, then we’ll take a 2 hour canoe trip down the Desna River, with an island stop for some archery and swimming, and end with a picnic lunch and buses back to the city by 6pm. Everything is free, and you don’t need transportation. If you want to drive, we have free parking at my cottage. If you are flying in, we’ll help with transportation from the airport if necessary. No gifts - the only exception is a favorite book that I can add to my reading list and collection (in any language).

Here is a sampling of what we can do at my cottage and in the area. There is a big outdoor complex 20 minutes away where we will rent cottages and who will arrange canoes and Sunday lunch.

Saturday, September 14th
2pm: Meet at Très Branché (4 Mykoly Lysenko, next to Golden Gate) for bus to Zubyria.
3pm: Tour cottages and guests staying drop off things.
3:45pm: Arrive Zubyria, welcome cocktails, sidecar motorcycle tours, snacks, bicycles, more.
6pm: Surprise Event
8pm: Concert by Babuci & Brothers
8:45pm: Dinner
9:30pm: Babuci Bros Part II
All night: Music, fire, fun, conversations, drinks
10:30pm: Bonfire & desserts
12:30am: Bus returns to Golden Gates
3:00am: Last ride to cottages
Sunday, September 15th
9:00am: First hourly bus from cottages to Zubyria.
10:00am: Meet at Très Branché (4 Mykoly Lysenko, next to Golden Gate) for bus to Zubyria.
9:30am - 12pm: Brunch @ Zubyria
12pm: Drive to canoe launch site
12:30pm: Start canoe journey down Desna river
2:00pm: Archery and swimming on river island
3:00pm: Canoe end; Lunch feast
3:30-5:30pm: Lunch at Zubyria
6:00pm: Bus back to Kiev
